He was conferred with the Doctorate degree in December of 1990. Dr. Adams is a member of several professional organizations including American Society for Microbiology

Dr. Milton Adams has been in the field of Laboratory Medicine for over 30 years. In the course of his career, he worked as Medical Technologist, Scientific Officer, Lab Manager, Assistant Director and Director of Laboratory Services. He worked in such reputable hospitals as Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, Quest Diagnostics, Inc. in New Jersey, NTD Laboratory, a Perkin Elmer company in Melville, New York, and Al Amal Hospital in Saudi Arabia to name but few.

Dr. Adams has traveled far and wide and has resided in then West Germany and England. He saw the suffering of the homeless in these countries and also in the U.S.A. Following his observation, Dr. Adams came to the conclusion that something has to be done to help the homeless and destitute. Dr. Adams believes that everyone should be given the opportunity to live a meaningful life. He also believes that circumstances drive people to become homeless. After several years of contact with the homeless, Dr. Adams found out that if these people are given opportunity, they can be productive in the communities in which they live. He saw no other way of assisting these individuals than through charitable giving in the form of a non-for-profit organization. This led to the birth of The International Coalition For The Destitute, Inc. in 2001.
